More customizations in FINPACK Credit Analysis

by | Sep 30, 2021

In a previous News Post, we looked at some of the ways FINPACK can be customized to meet the unique credit underwriting and analysis needs of your institution, focusing on Collateral Analysis and Risk Ratings. Now, let’s take a look at the ways you can customize Loan Presentations and Credit Decision Scorecards to better reflect your institution’s unique credit culture.

Presentations

The FINPACK Loan Presentation Manager is designed to be customized for your organization.  This tool allows for a consistent and concise loan presentation format customized to your institution’s needs.  The Presentation Manager allows you to work from a system template you’ve customized to mirror your current presentation template.  Furthermore, multiple templates are possible, if needed, for your organization.  The FINPACK Presentation Manager allows users to combine specific FINPACK data and the loan narrative components needed.  FINPACK data can be imported and automatically updated from throughout the software.  And the tool includes familiar word-processing functionality.  Finally, a loan presentation packet can be created that includes default FINPACK output, specific customer documents, and external documents that may be needed.

Credit Decision Scorecard

FINPACK’s Credit Decision Scorecard allows the review and decision-making process to be fast-tracked for smaller loans.  The scorecard criteria are meant to be customized to reflect your institution’s loan policies and procedures.  You determine if and when this analysis may be appropriate for loan requests by defining the essential criteria that must be met to make the loan.  This tool allows for ‘automatic approval’ if all scorecard criteria are met and also the flexibility to override as needed for specific reasons.  This tool can be used as appropriate for agricultural and commercial loans.  The FINPACK Team has also been told some institutions use this tool for basic consumer underwriting.  Essentially, this tool allows you to quickly approve loans that are smaller in size and fit the ‘square peg’ criteria of your institution.
