Checking for FINPACK updates, log-in errors in FINPACK+, and more in this month’s FINPACK FAQs from the FINPACK Support Team!

Do I need to check for FINPACK Updates?

Our team continually improves the efficiency and functionality of FINPACK and provides regular updates throughout the year. Updates are applied automatically for FINPACK+ users, and no action is needed. For users of FINPACK installed, watch out for news of updates via FINPACK News emails, and you can also check regulalry by going to HELP/Software Updates and following the steps. As always, if you have any issues, please reach out to our support team and we’ll be happy to help.

In FINPACK+, what should I do when I get a message saying my ‘request has been blocked’?

Clearing your browser cache and cookies usually resolves this issue. This article gives directions on how to clear cookies in the Chrome Browser, and here’s an article with steps for doing the same in the Edge browser.

I updated FINPACK, and now I’m getting a message saying ‘this software is out of date’.

Updating FINPACK installed will create a new icon on your desktop with the more current year in the title. So, this year’s update for example will generate the icon ‘FINPACK2026’. You need to click on that icon to access the most recent, up-to-date version of your software. Clicking on the older icon will give you the error message. You can go ahead and delete the older icon. It will not affect your saved FINPACK files.

How can I learn more about using FINPACK?

All lender licenses include unlimited access to FINPACK online training. FINPACK+ users can access the training via the dropdown menu to the right of your name once you log in. For FINPACK installed users, you can learn more here. You can also find a good introduction in our ‘How to Approach Credit Analysis in FINPACK’ post. Our Knowledge Base also contains many other articles on FINPACK, setup and deployment, and input forms.

We also offer training, both in-person and virtually. The next in-person training for Ag lenders is May 20-21, 2026 on the St. Paul campus. FINPACK Training for Ag Lenders offers lenders two days of practical, hands-on training with insights into all the components of FINPACK. The training is delivered in-person by the FINPACK team, and focuses on credit analysis of agricultural businesses, covering everything from data input and interpretation to credit analysis tools like risk rating and presentations.
